Hutchison Telecom (MCC 454, MNC 05) previously operated a CDMA network in Hong Kong, and was a notable player in the region's mobile communications landscape. Situated in Asia & Middle East, Hong Kong boasts a dynamic mobile market, and Hutchison Telecom offered an alternative to the more prevalent GSM networks like those operated by CSL and SmarTone at the time. Though now defunct, its history is significant, showcasing Hong Kong's diverse approach to mobile technology adoption. Using MCC 454 and MNC 05, Hutchison Telecom's CDMA network aimed to provide reliable coverage and services. CDMA technology offered certain advantages regarding voice quality and network capacity in certain scenarios. However, the company eventually phased out its CDMA operations in favor of focusing on other technologies that better suited market demand. Knowing the network used the Mobile Country Code and Mobile Network Code, helped identify subscribers on the network, and ensure cross network compatibilities.
